Epicor Eclipse Video Tip: How to Mark a Sale as ExceptionaL

Every so often, when using Eclipse, you may want to exclude an item from your demand calculation. This might be because you have a sales order that's very large, or you may want to mark a sale as exceptional simply because it falls outside the norm of your typical transactions.

When marking a sale as exceptional in Eclipse, you can choose to exclude only one item, or the entire order altogether. Marking a sale as exceptional offers a quick way to help you organize your orders and allow exceptional orders to not be calculated in your demand projections.

If you’re using E-Term: 

• Start in E-Term and open a new sales order.
• Place your cursor on the line item where you want to make the exception.
• Hit Alt-S, then tab over to the Type field. Select E for Exception.
• Save your order.

You can also:

• Alt-Q for Inquiries, Alt-H for History Ledger, then tab over to the Type and select Except. 
• Save your order.

Or you can:

• Go to the Header screen and select Additional Options.
• Then select Additional Header Information.
• Mark the entire order as exceptional by typing Y next to Exceptional Sales. 
• Escape out of the screen and save your order.

If you’re using Solar, the process is similar:

• Open a sales order and go to Schedule by right-clicking on the Product Description
• Under Qty Type, select E for Exception.
• Close the screen.
• Right-click on the Product Description and select Inquiry History.
• Find the product you want to update and mark the Product Type as Except.
• Save your changes and exit the screen.
• Open the Header screen and select Additional Header Information. 
• On the right-hand side of the screen, find and check the box labeled Exceptional sale.
• This will mark the entire order as exceptional.
